Lady Gaga picture- A term I found very interesting in chapter one was the term mass culture. Mass Culture “is produced for an unknown, desperate audience. …to covey its message to the largest possible audience.” (pg 9 of Popular Culture 2nd ed.) I thought a picture of Lady Gaga would be very useful in defining this word. Because she/he, or her/his fame is distributed by technology or by music. The singer has an unknown and disparate audience, and became very popular very quickly. It didn’t take months or years to gain popularity or become more known. The artist became very popular over just a couple weeks of his/her music being distributed.
