One key term that can fully be explored with being an otherkin and the site is performativity. The otherkin subculture goes against this term, before one even expores the site. The group already goes against the social norm of a group of people who don't follow the ways of normal society. They don't act human because they don't think they are. They don't behave as if they were born a normal human beng the beleive that they are not human that they are, elves or faries or vampires they don't follow what normal humans do in society. One can see that by the blog site. One man thought that he had wings growing out of his shoulderblades. One can see from the blog of Veamoryn the he/she believe to be a being from a different world. “I ended up with a physical symptom that wouldn't go away, namely phantom wings coming out of my shoulder blades. The strength of thinking that you are someone else can be both emotionally and physically draining without the help of others who believe themselves to different can make one go crazy. The group believes themselves to be too different from the regular community they feel as if they will never accepted for who they are. They don't follow social norm.
